John F. Kennedy International Airport

New York, NY

Overview

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), located in the largest Designated Market Area (DMA) in the country, serves as the top international gateway to the United States with over 70 primarily international airlines. JFK serves more international carriers than any other U.S. airport and enplanes more passengers than any other New York airport. It currently serves 533 daily nonstop flights to more than 154 destinations around the world and ranks among the top 20 busiest airports in the world.

Although JFK is historically known for its role as an international gateway airport for the U.S., it also handles a large number of domestic flights. JFK is a major domestic point of origin for several carriers, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and jetBlue Airways, each with their own terminals.

Market Penetration

49% of the New York DMA adults traveled by air in the past year; of these adults, 63% departed from John F. Kennedy International Airport. JCDecaux NY airports (JFK, LaGuardia and Newark) are the primary points of departure in the New York DMA.
