Newark Liberty International Airport

Newark, NJ

Overview

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is one of JCDecaux's three main New York airports. A combined advertising campaign in Newark, JFK and LaGuardia ensures 100% air market coverage of the New York DMA. In 2016, over 40 million passengers passed through Newark.

Newark is one of United Airlines' most important hubs, with 60 gates dedicated to their domestic and international flights. Terminal C, United's Global Gateway in the New York market, accounts for 57% of the airport's passenger traffic. This terminal includes an international arrivals and connections facility for United passengers, which combines Customs, and Immigration and other government operations in one location so passengers do not have to leave the building for international connections.

Newark Liberty International Airport is easily accessible from both Manhattan and New Jersey. It is on the doorstep of the Wall Street area of Manhattan, where more travel dollars are spent than anywhere else in the U.S. Also, New Jersey residents favor this airport for their travel, including the 1.8 million residents living in four of the nation's wealthiest counties - Morris, Somerset, Hunterdon, and Bergen.

Market Penetration

50% of the adults in the New York DMA traveled by air in the past year; of these adults, 39% departed from Newark Liberty International Airport.
