Job Description


JCDecaux is hiring an Operations Supervisor to work out of our Chicago, IL warehouse. JCDecaux holds Chicago’s Street Furniture Contract and is responsible for its maintenance, cleaning, and posting of several hundred fixtures and digital screens. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the Maintenance Technicians and daily required cleaning, services and repairing of street furniture.


  • Schedule, coordinate and supervise maintenance technician work activities during the cleaning, servicing and repairing of street furniture to deliver the highest level of quality to the City of Chicago and our customers
  • Inspect all pieces of street furniture in assigned area to determine maintenance needs
  • Investigate complaints about street furniture conditions
  • Manage an inventory of materials and equipment required to complete all work 
  • Confer with technical support staff to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues
  • Prepare bi-weekly work schedules and priorities for review by Director of Operations
  • Update online maintenance logs every 24 hours with daily maintenance information for reporting to the City of Chicago
  • Propose and develop safety processes with other Maintenance Supervisors and under the lead of the Director of Operations, to promote organized and documented work procedures with the goal to ensure the safety of the Maintenance Technicians and the public
  • Hires, train, manage, motivate and lead a team of Maintenance Technicians in a Union environment while ensuring proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained
  • Gather and submits all proof of performance photos to the operations support staff in a timely manner
  • Ensure the accurate and timely posting of advertising campaigns within assigned area and that all advertisements are illuminated and displayed for maximum exposure 
  • Coordinator with Director of Operations and in liaison with all the relevant governmental agencies from the City and the sub-contractors involved, on the proper implementation of the permit application process, site-surveying and prep and installation of fixtures


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills required
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
  • Ability to analyze the overall maintenance process to suggest creative improvements that will increase efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Experience dealing with city agencies is preferred
  • Experience managing minimum of 10 people in union environment
  • Excellent knowledge of the city of Chicago
  • Efficient in Microsoft Suite particularly Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license
