MallScape shoppers are not only concerned about what they wear but also about their physical appearance. They visit spas, beauty salons, and they maintain more active lifestyles than the average American in the top DMAs - exercising in and out of their homes and participating in a multitude of physical activities.
Scarbrough research indicates that:
MallScape shoppers are 57% more likely to belong to health/exercise clubs than most Americans in JCDecaux MallScape DMAs.
In the New York DMA, MallScape shoppers are 66% more likely to belong to health/exercise clubs than most adults in that market. In addition, Chicago MallScape shoppers are 74% more likely to belong to health/exercise clubs than most adults in that market.
In the past year, MallScape shoppers were more likely to have played tennis (78%) and to have done yoga (59%) than most adults in the JCDecaux MallScape DMAs. Nearly 45% of MallScape shoppers have gone swimming and over 40% have gone running at some point in the past year.
