JCDecaux advertisers win big at the Golden Globes.
Congratulations to all of last night’s Golden Globe winners! We’re proud to see so many of the campaigns that have graced our street furniture advertising networks be recognized at this prestigious awards ceremony.
TV AWARDS
Netflix was expected to perform well at this year’s ceremony. Leading with 42 nominations, including 20 in the TV category, and taking home more than half of the TV awards. 6 of those nominations were for popular historical drama The Crown, which ended the nights with wins for Best Drama, Best Actress (Emma Corrin), Best Actor (Josh O’Connor), and Best Supporting Actress (Gillian Anderson).
The Queen’s Gambit, another Netflix series, won Best Limited Series and Best Actress in a Limited Series (Beth Harmon).
It’s first ever Golden Globe, Apple TV+ won the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy award for Jason Sudeikis’s performance in Ted Lasso.
MOTION PICTURE AWARDS
Out of Amazon Studios’ three wins last night, two were for Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm- including Best Musical or Comedy, the first such win for a streaming service. Sacha Baron Cohen won Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his reprisal of Borat in this sequel.
In a bittersweet moment, beloved actor Chadwick Boseman was recognized posthumously, winning Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Daniel Kaluuya won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah.
Aaron Sorkin’s moving motion picture The Trial of the Chicago 7 won Best Screenplay – Motion Picture.
Disney’s Soul won big at last night’s awards show. The animated film took home awards for Best Animated Motion Picture, Best Original Score (Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, John Batiste).
