The Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030 was launched three years ago, and now a new effort is designed to scale up the commitments.
The start of the campaign was announced during the high-level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on Global Road Safety in July 2022. The campaign’s first launch took place in Brussels, Belgium, in September 2023. In March 2024, it was launched in Ivory Coast, followed by Mongolia and South Africa in Spring 2024, and the USA in July 2024.
By December 2025, this initiative will be displayed across JCDecaux’s network of street furniture in over 80 countries and 1,000 cities. This highly visible media platform means these critical messages of safety can reach urban residents outside of the home where they are more likely to be received.
